(Canadian) Army goes back to the future with return to British-style ranks and designations

I don’t know what’s up with all these changes that have been made but I’m sure there is more going on than meets the eye!!
Is Canada being totally absorbed back into Britain??
One of the changes not mentioned in the article is that when Prince Philip was here in Canada in April/13 the official uniform color of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the Red Serge was changed. I listened closely during the ceremony but I personally did not hear an explanation as to why they changed the color, and the color change is not perceptible to the eye. So why change it??!!!
In the article it says “This in no way diminishes Canadian identity,” . Oh yeah?!! It seems to me that this change combined with the other changes say otherwise. Imo Canada has been doing a lot of sucking up to Britain and the Royals lately.
There have been many other changes not mentioned in this article.
